Tuftsin Analog Heptapeptide
Selank (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro) is a synthetic heptapeptide analog of the endogenous immunomodulatory peptide tuftsin. Developed at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, it has been studied for anxiolytic properties, BDNF upregulation, serotonin and dopamine modulation, and GABAergic pathway effects in preclinical models. It is used as a research tool in anxiety, cognitive function, and neurological studies.
Research Benefits
Documented areas of investigation based on peer-reviewed preclinical and clinical literature. For research reference only.
Studied for protective effects against neuronal damage and ischemic injury in preclinical models.
Promotes brain-derived neurotrophic factor expression supporting neuronal health.
Investigated for effects on learning, memory, and cognitive performance in research models.
Studied for effects on serotonin, dopamine, and GABAergic signaling pathways.
Literature
Anxiolytic effects comparable to benzodiazepines without sedation in rodent models
BDNF upregulation in hippocampal and cortical regions observed in preclinical studies
Serotonin and dopamine system modulation studied in stress-induced anxiety models
Cognitive enhancement effects in learning and memory tasks in rodent behavioral studies
